Ya is been a long time i dint update my blog
and now i decided to record my teaching experience
during my practicum weeks
hope that im still rmb it.
YA, i had teach at SJK(C) Chung Ching, Raub.
My first impression towards this school it...
big size school compared to my friends.
It a big challenge for me to teach in a large number of student
during my first practicum only
But, what to do?
Life still go on, i need to encourage myself that
I CAN DO IT
So when i know that i will teach 4B class science in number of 36
i think... hmmm as long as not over than 40
when my tutor told me that they quite noisy and sometime lazy
im not believe it at first
When i step into the class
they felt so curious about me, keep asking me questions
and i almost cant control the class
so i decided to use a slogon
"爱的静静"
it works!! hehe
After that i start my first lesson which is about respiratory system
i know that they had learn this topic before during tuition class in class
so i decided give them a quiz competition in groups
to test their previous level.
mostly they can answer correctly
guardian by some excellent student
but those excellent student keep writing the answer by themselves
and did not care or even give chance for others to answer it
so they keep argue and some of student show their sad face to me
got a excellent boy wanna win the higher achievement
keep scolding his friends to go away from his eye view
at last he shout in high pitch and frequency.
Im so shock at that time, but i dint scold him
i think he is an emotional boy
so i got bit scare towards him haha
but after that incident
i indicate some moral values to them
"why i give you all solve the question in groups?
is because i want you all to share your knowledge with your friends
solve the problem together
and celebrate the achievement together
if your group get high marks because of a person effort only
it not worth, and no meaning to you.
For those who are good in science
i hope that you can help me as a assistance to help your friends to learn together
during my lesson.
The process of learning is more important than the final result. "
I really hope that they understand what that i talk
when i doing my reflection of teaching lesson,
i think they need sometimes and routine of grouping activities
so at the coming soon lesson
i keep giving them to works in groups
hope that they will more patience when they communicate with friends.
So, what makes them poor in communication?
I think is our education system and teacher teaching methods.
During my primary years,
teacher keep talking in front
and we keep listening in back
sometimes it is bored and lost focus
some more we cannot make noise in class
even thought wanna ask some question to my friends
ya, this is our old education style
but now, it had change
but i think still not enough, many teacher still using the traditional ways to teach
the reason is, it is easy to control the class
teaching lesson run smoothly
this kind of mindset should be change
from the beginning of running group activity
the student felt so excited or maybe lost
so they will make some noise, is normal
but if you give them some time,
i think they will do better
as long as the lesson is successful attract they attention!
